Welcome to the first part of the Energy Efficiency in the Refurbishment of High-Rise Residential Buildings project website, Assessing the Situation. There are two main sections in this part of the site:

• The current potential for energy efficiency improvement of Europe's high-rise housing stock, including a description of the energy efficiency measures applicable and quantitative results on the net cost of energy savings and CO2 mitigation.
   
• An overview of the wider benefits of investment in energy efficiency improvement of the high-rise stock, including benefits to energy security, job creation and resident comfort and wellbeing.
