Common Statement on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
EuroACE has issued a common statement with Eurima (The European Insulation Manufacturers Association) and EREC (The European Renewable Energy Council) on the recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). EuroACE-commissioned survey calls for strong push toward very low energy standards for new buildings
A second survey on very low energy buildings shows the energy and carbon savings for Member States with a trajectory towards upgrading their Building Codes to require very low energy buildings to become the default standard for new construction. The recast of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive should be used to promote a more ambitious move towards this level of construction across Europe. National Energy Efficiency Action Plans: Commission sends reasoned opinions to two Member States
The European Commission decided on 3 April to send reasoned opinions to Greece and Latvia for failing to submit their National Energy Efficiency Action Plans as required by the Energy End-Use Efficiency and Energy Services Directive. A reasoned opinion is the final step in the legal procedure before referral to the European Court of Justice.
