New EU Affairs Manager to advance EuroACE
Amanda Afifi joins EuroACE on 4 February in the newly-created position of EU Affairs Manager. Amanda, hailing from Ireland, comes with five years experience in a leading Brussels-based public affairs consultancy where she was Head of Information and Research for the well-known Environment Issue Tracker and manned the secretariat of a European trade association. Well versed in EU environment and energy issues and with a keen understanding of how the EU works in practice, her full-time presence in Brussels will allow the activities of EuroACE to expand and diversify at an important cross-road in the future of energy savings in buildings. EuroACE would like to thank Alexandre Dias for his valued assistance in running the association prior to Amanda’s appointment.
EuroACE elects new President
Rick Wilberforce of Pilkington Group Ltd. has been appointed the new President of EuroACE. Rick is very experienced in the sector having served as the first President of EuroACE from 2003 to 2005. He is therefore well placed to fill the shoes of his predecessor Horst Biedermann who was a driving force behind the wheel of the association during his tenure.
